RESPONSIBILITY To be chosen to become the class monitor was one thing I had always hated and dreaded. It involves a lot of hard work and discipline which I thought I did not have. It also involves acting in a mature and responsible manner, being on your feet at all times and taking wise decisions for the entire class. With the title of the monitor comes a long list of responsibilities. Some of these duties which are to be shouldered by a monitor include maintaining discipline and silence in the class in the teacher's absence, checking the uniform of all the students, distributing corrected notebooks and test papers. It involves running to the principal's office if a particular teacher does not turn up for a class, switching off the lights and fans if the students are not in class, taking care of the cupboard keys, and managing the stationery.
